Christopher Guillard, Principal – CMG landscape architecture

Building on a set of abiding interests first explored as a student at Tech, Chris will share his experiences as a principal with CMG landscape architecture along with a range of ideas and projects that vary in type and scale but cohere around collaboration, ecology, and the importance of consilience in an urban era.

Mr. Guillard is an accomplished designer and a founding partner of CMG landscape architecture. His work and research is focused on the value of public open space and landscapes that synthesize social, ecological, and economic agendas in emergent and participatory environments. Chris has combined a strategic approach with a collaborative spirit to lead a wide range of urban and community based initiatives that foster the relationship between design, community and place. He received the outstanding alumni award from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech and his work has received numerous ASLA and AIA design awards. He currently serves on Board of the San Francisco Parks Alliance, a San Francisco based non-profit organization that advocates for an equitable and sustainable park and recreation system.
